Paris and Open Mics: A Love Story based on Mutual Respect

An open mic for English speakers, for anyone really, is organised by “Paris Lit Up” on Thursday evenings. World Radio Paris was there a few weeks ago and talked to some of the performers about Paris and the fact that there are so many open mics in the city.

At Culture Rapide, the silence during the open mic is holy. The barman is carefully serving glasses of red wine and pints. And people are being gentle when they want to pass to the toilets. Located in the centre of Belleville, the spot is known for many open mic lovers.

If you want to try it, the address of the bar is 103 Rue Julien Lacroix, and the “Paris Lit Up” event usually starts at 9pm.
