Turning Points in France: Ceangal

In this episode of Turning Points in France, Patricia Killeen chatted with Olive Towey & Charlie Ganly – an Irish couple who have created Ceangal, a concept which offers very special well-being experiences in beautiful settings across the Cognac region of France. Ceangal is an Irish word meaning ‘connect’.

I recently attended a Mindfulness weekend, hosted by Olive & Charlie and I can honestly say, I’ve been Ceangal-ed! Quality instruction, by physiotherapist and qualified Mindfulness coach Martin Towey (or by chef Maggy Paul-Martinet for the cookery breaks) are complemented by authentic French experiences, from delicious local food and wine, to walks in the countryside, to visits to local attractions.

Logis du Paradis (www.logisduparadis.com) where the breaks are currently organized lives up to its name. The guesthouse, and gîtes, date from 1712, and have been luxuriously revamped.  The property is a former Cognac distillery, and on my recent visit we enjoyed a wonderful presentation, followed by cognac and pineau tasting.
